Malcom’s workouts and training schedule are challenging, but at an appropriate level and I don’t have to worry about pushing too hard to the point of injury. His focus on injury prevention is really important to me because it lets me climb more days in a year.

I started training with Malcom about 3 years ago. I was a complete beginner who climbed 5.8 in the gym. I wanted to improve but did not know how. Malcom’s program guided me to improve in Climbing techniques, fitness and mental aspects. I sent my first 5.11a outdoor this year and my second 5.12- in the gym. I also sent a handful of V6s in the gym. The improvement is tremendous. Most importantly I was able to avoid injuries because I followed the program instead of making up one by myself or just trying to climb more which usually result in chronic injuries. Last but not the least, training with friends is just so fun! The training sessions on weekday nights makes the week better

I started Malcom’s training program after a year and a half of climbing. Before the program, I was progressing but not as much as I would have liked. My sessions at the gym were lacking structure and motivation; I would go in and climb aimlessly for a little before calling it a day. The difference between my sessions then and now are like night and day! Malcom’s training program provides the structure that I need, and training with others who have similar goals push me to climb harder than ever before. The workouts are creative, difficult, but most importantly fun! One of my favorite aspects of the program is that Malcom always includes strengthening exercises to work the legs and core. These exercises followed by the tough climbing workouts leaves me fully exhausted but also feeling incredibly accomplished after completing a full body workout. With this program, I’m confident that I’ll be able to accomplish my climbing goals in no time! In addition to the effective workouts, Malcom’s expertise in providing ways to improve climbing is invaluable. He really cares about our progression and improving, and is able to point out ways to climb more efficiently and with better technique. I would recommend this program for any climber who wishes to get better!

Prior to Mel’s recovery plan I was having some intense pain and numbness in my left shoulder. This would limit my ability to work and to enjoy pushing my limits. One day Mel reached out to me and offered me a solution. A few exchanges later and Mel had emailed me a detailed workout plan dedicated to increasing my shoulder mobility and decreasing my pain. It sounds cheesy but let me tell you when I say it works, and it works incredibly well. The exercises could sometimes be objectively boring but it’s a solid reminder that boring is EFFECTIVE. Since starting that plan my numbness and pain have gone away. I’ve been able to pull much harder with proper recruitment. In addition to that, I’ve noticed mobility in my lower body has much improved. If you’re looking for solid guidance and an Effective plan Mel is the person to talk to.
